WAS understands the difficulty in treating youth with substance abuse issues and problematic behavior. Our Youth Intensive Outpatient Program (Y-IOP) provides the necessary time to effectively challenge their ideas and behavior about alcohol and drug use. The Y-IOP meets twice a week for 24 consecutive sessions (over
three months).
By keeping our groups small (3-5 maximum youth members) our therapists develop
rapport and trust with our adolescent patients. Our 3 month Y-IOP consists of multiple group meetings occurring throughout the week, designed to meet the needs of the individual and organized according to age and appropriate stage of life. Our girl groups and boy groups meet separately. Call for an updated IOP schedule. Family involvement and participation is encouraged; however the patient's privacy is respected as a means of maintaining therapeutic trust. Y-IOP also includes weekly random drug testing.
